Soak up the culture on a language course in England

Dear Readers,

London is home to a wealth of museums, art galleries, theatres and music venues, making it the cultural heart as well as capital of the UK. Most of the top museums in London are free to visit. Seeing all the sights in one weekend can be tiring, though, so we recommend spending a little longer in the city to really explore all it has to offer. The ideal way to do this is by studying English here and staying with a friendly local host family or in a shared flat with people who can share their insider tips with you. At the LISA! Language School in London Bloomsbury, England, you’ll become fluent in English in just a few short weeks and be able to chat to locals in no time. This will help you to really get to know the local culture in a way that tourists generally never do.

London-bloomsbury-1 in

The language classes are divided into groups according to ability, so everyone, from beginners to more advanced learners of all ages, is in the group that is right for them. On the first day your language level will be assessed and you will be assigned to a group. At the language school in London Bloomsbury you will have the chance to get to know bright, intelligent people from all over the world. Most of our customers travel to the language courses alone, allowing everyone to mingle and make interesting new friends from all corners of the globe.

London-bloomsbury-3 in

Our language school is located in the leafy green neighbourhood of Bloomsbury, right next to the British Museum and just a few minutes’ walk away from major attractions such as Oxford Street and Buckingham Palace. For those interested in not only perfecting their English, but also discovering the city and its cultural gems, we recommend our London Cultural Experience course.

The interactive, entertaining and interesting lessons take place all around London in various museums and art galleries, giving you the chance to put your English into practice in the real world immediately and bringing the lessons to life! Classes will be led by one of our highly qualified teachers, all native speakers of English. This course was awarded the British Council’s Innovation Award for the creative teaching methods used. Examples of museums we visit include:

The British Museum: One of the most impressive collections of human history and culture in the world; top attractions include the Rosetta Stone (a must-see for linguists!) and the Egyptian mummies
The Victoria and Albert Museum: A fascinating museum named after Queen Victoria and her husband and dedicated to the history and present art and design.
The National Gallery: An extensive collection of artwork from the Medieval period up until the 20th century, including Sunflowers by Van Gogh. This stunning building is one of the main focal points of the famous Trafalgar Square.

English language courses on Malta – all ages welcome!

20.02.2012

Dear Readers,

LISA! Language Courses are designed for adults and teens of all ages. At each of our language schools, you’re bound to meet many international language students in your age range. So what is the average age of our students? Contrary to popular belief, language learning is not just for young people. Around half of our course participants are between 18 and 28, often university students from all fields or young professonials from many European countries. Many of our customers are in their 30s and 40s. Language travel is becoming increasingly popular amongst people aged 40+ who are looking to get to know new countries, make new friends and learn to speak a language fluently. Some of these are single, looking to meet new people, while some are happily married and bring the whole family along (for our language courses for teenagers please visit our website).

Malta-2012 in

The quickest way to perfect your English skills and to learn to speak fluently is to take a language course at a quality school abroad, in the country where the language is spoken. At the LISA! Language School in Malta, you’ll learn fluent English in a matter of weeks. A LISA! Language Course offers professional, top quality language training for all levels of ability, from complete beginners to more advanced learners. Even for those with little or no prior knowledge of English, you’ll learn within 2-4 weeks to hold simple conversations with locals, understand English language films and be able to write and read with confidence in English.

Sprachreisen-malta-architektur in

This level of progress is made possible through the EU-recommended Direct Method, where all teachers are trained to teach their native language, in this case English, as a foreign language. We employ high-qualified, experienced teachers from the UK and Malta. A language course of 12 weeks is the ideal length to learn to speak English like a native speaker, all at a reasonable price. The final result is just as good when you break up these 12 weeks across several years, for example taking three 4-week courses across a period of 5 years.

Malta-Popeye-Village in

Language classes take place in international groups and are ideal for beginners and more advanced learners of all ages. On your first day, you’ll be placed in a group based on your current level of English. You’ll get to meet other students from all over the world here! Most of our language learners travel alone, which means everyone is out to make friends, meet new people, learn about other cultures and have a fantastic time. Our wonderful language school lies right by the sparkling blue Mediterranean Sea.

English Language Courses Abroad for Teenagers 2012 Malta

27.01.2012

Dear Parents,

We’ve now been organising language courses for teenagers on the Mediterranean island of Malta for 18 years. During this time we have always insisted on top-notch quality, perfect organisation and providing guidance and support for our young learners, while making sure they have a great time and learn as much as possible. We supervise our underage students and teach them to speak fluent English within weeks, regardless of their previous knowledge of the language. At the end of a LISA! Language Course, our students have the confidence to express themselves fluently in English, read and write complex texts and handle complex structures and specific vocabulary. We prepare our learners for their next school exams and help them to achieve their full potential. We also recognise the importance of a balance between learning and leisure, which is why we organise the brilliant LISA! Activity Programme for everyone, led by our group leaders in the afternoons and weekends. These activities and parties are just as important in the learning process.

Schuelersprachreisen-malta-03 in

Our language school in Malta lies just a short walk from the sparkling Mediterranean Sea. Our modern course structure follows the EU-recommended Direct Method, according to which pupils are taught exclusively in the target language by a native speaker of English. Even students with little or no prior knowledge of English begin to understand right from the start what their teacher is saying, and in just a few weeks they’ll be chatting away in English themselves and able to use and understand the language in everyday situations.

We provide only the highest quality services, and part of this includes making sure that our language schools welcome students from all over the world. This means our English classes contain a good mix of different nationalities and are ideal for students from any academic background. We offer courses for students aged between 13 and 19. With us, your son or daughter will meet other young people of a similar age from all over the world, broadening their horizons and improving their general knowledge, cultural awareness and social skills as well as their language ability.

The days are often still sunny and warm – the perfect time for a trip to bilingual city Montréal. Imagine walking around this exciting metropole, your footsteps crunching through the fallen leaves as you explore this unique double culture. Temperatures are still mild with very little rain at this time of year, but if you’ve had enough of the Great Outdoors, Montréal has some fantastic museums to offer, as well as a range of different cafés with street terraces on the Saint-Laurent Boulevard. Don’t miss a trip to the top of Mont Royal to admire the city panorama in all its autumn glory.

The inhabitants of Montréal speak French and English. This is a young, student city with many studying at the McGill University, and the city’s population has also been defined by many decades of immigration from all over the world, creating a cultural melting pot. Visitors to Montréal can sample some of the finest world cuisine, from Portuguese roast chicken to Chinese stirfrys and Spanish tapas bars. Ultimately, though, Montréal has not forgotten its French roots. Restaurants where you can bring your own bottle of wine are often a sign that this is a favourite amongst locals, so if you’re hoping to get talking to some real Montrealers, this is the place to go! The city is also an ideal place to shop, with 30 kilometres of underground passageways connecting the network of boutiques, clothes shops and restaurants built underneath the city. The north of Montréal is home to many vintage second-hand clothes shops where you can find one-of-a-kind pieces. For a trip back in time, you can hire a horse-drawn carriage to take you through the cobbled streets of Old Montréal, where the Neo-Gothic Basilica of Notre Dame stands tall. In the evenings, head to the ‘Downtown’ area with its many bars and music scene.
