We’ve been organising language courses for teenagers in the beautiful Tuscan city of Florence for 18 years now. During this time we have always insisted on top-notch quality, perfect organisation and providing guidance and support for our young learners, while making sure they have a great time and learn as much as possible. On a LISA! language course, your child will perfect their Italian skills whilst spending the summer with other young people from all over Europe. This international exchange will really broaden their horizons and create friendships for life. Many of our young students come back to us year after year to get to know Italy and the Italian language.

Our language school is located right in the centre of Florence, not too far from the towering Santa Maria cathedral. Our modern course structure follows the EU-recommended Direct Method, according to which pupils are taught exclusively in the target language by a native speaker of Italian. Even students with little or no prior knowledge of Italian begin to understand right from the start what their teacher is saying, and in just a few weeks they’ll be chatting away in Italian themselves and able to use and understand the language in everyday situations.

In the afternoons and evenings, our group leaders organise the fantastic LISA! Activity Programme for all participants. We teach students with a wide range of abilities; students already receiving good marks at school will be further challenged and encouraged to really excel, while students having difficulties will be encouraged into reaching their full potential. By coming to Italy to learn Italian, your child will get a real feel for the language and culture. Without even noticing it, their Italian will improve dramatically during their time here, thanks to both classes and the range of incredible activities and outings we organise.

So what is the average age of our students? Contrary to popular belief, language learning is not just for young people. Around half of our course participants are between 18 and 28, often university students from all fields or young professonials from many European countries. Many of our customers are in their 30s and 40s. Language travel is becoming increasingly popular amongst people aged 40+ who are looking to get to know new countries, make new friends and learn to speak a language fluently. The quickest way to perfect your English skills and to learn to speak fluently is to take a language course at a quality school abroad, in the country where the language is spoken. At the LISA! Language School in Malta, you’ll learn fluent English in a matter of weeks. A LISA! Language Course offers professional, top quality language training for all levels of ability, from complete beginners to more advanced learners. Even for those with little or no prior knowledge of English, you’ll learn within 2-4 weeks to hold simple conversations with locals, understand English language films and be able to write and read with confidence in English.

We have been organising language courses in Barcelona for 18 years now, and are proud to be one of the few providers sending students from all over the world to learn Spanish here. This means that, not only will your children learn to speak fluent Spanish with us, but they will also make friends with other young people of a similar age from all parts of Europe and the world. In Barcelona we have four different options for our teenage students: alongside the Spanish language classes, students can choose from the following leisure programmes: Flamenco/ Salsa dancing, Windsurfing, Beach Sports (volleyball and tennis) or opt for our special Spanish and Football programme (this last one is only available in July). In addition to these options, all students will get to take part in the brilliant LISA! Activity Programme consisting of museums visits, guided tours of the city, discos, parties and trips to the Port Aventura amusement park.

Our language school in Barcelona is located right in the city centre, surrounded by countless shops, cafés and traditional tapas bars. Our up-to-date courses use the Direct Method recommended by the EU, where classes are held exclusively in the foreign language by a native speaker. This method will allow your child to speak Spanish fluently in just a few short weeks. Your child will be able to understand the teacher right from the beginning, without a word of English being spoken. Dear Readers,

The impressive city of Montevideo is the jewel in the crown of Uruguay. You’ll often see horse-drawn carriages in the street, and meet locals with Thermos flasks full of mate tea. Some say Uruguay is slightly overshadowed by its neighbour Argentina, but Uruguay nevertheless holds its own as a beautiful country. People here are just as passionate about football, dancing the tango and cooking delicious barbecued steaks.

With its 1.4 million inhabitants, Montevideo is the cultural, political and financial heart of the country. The origins of the tango dance lie here, in the narrow streets of the historic centre ‘Ciudad Vieja,’ although Buenos Aires claims to be the home of the dance. Horse-drawn carriages clatter through the streets and the way of life here seems to embrace a perfect balance between technology, humankind and the environment, meaning that this enormous metropolis feels much more like a small town, cosier than the hectic scenes in most Latin American cities.

Montevideo was founded at the mouth of the Rio de la Plata and the city boasts stunning stretches of coastline with beaches and a long promenade. Active types head for one of the large city parks to play sports in their leisure time, while bargain-hunters check out the countless vintage and antiques markets. Everyone heads into the city to dance the tango in the evening, enticed by one of the many bars or grill restaurants.

Fortunately, Uruguay lies off the beaten track, with relatively few tourists. The scenery of Uruguay is defined by its vast golden beaches and the prairie further inland. The country has many water sources, with its rivers and long coastal stretches, hence the formation of numerous lagoons, home to colourful parrots, hummingbirds and swans. Turtles crawl along the beaches and whales can be seen out to sea, along with leaping dolphins.
